Labial Puff or Labial Puffing is a procedure that adds volume to labia majora or outer lips of the vagina. Factors such as genetics, weight loss, or aging can cause unwanted changes to the labia majora -it can often appear deflated and wrinkled. What is Labial Puff?
Labia majora augmentation, also known as “Labial Puff,” is a procedure that adds volume and plumpness to the labia majora (outer lips), decreasing the deflated, wrinkled appearance of the vulva. Labial puff in conjunction with labia minora reduction and clitoral hood reduction can rejuvenate the vulva and create a more youthful, aesthetic look to the vaginal area.
What are the benefits of labial puffing?
Due to genetics, weight loss, aging, and hormones, the labia majora may begin to lose laxity and its youthful plumpness. Many women find that they are unhappy with their now deflated and wrinkled appearance. Plumping up the labia majora through "Labial Puff" can improve the size, shape, contour, symmetry, and firmness of the labia majora and even conceal the labia minora for increased comfort.

Labia majora augmentation (labial puff) may be proper for you if you naturally have a small or thin labia majora or are experiencing laxity, deflation, or wrinkling due to fat loss, aging, and hormone changes.
How is Labial puff performed?
With a labial puff procedure, your surgeon will add volume to the outer vaginal lips using either a filler, like hyaluronic acid (HA), or your fat. HA fillers can be done under local anesthetic in the office, but the results are usually temporary and must be repeated every 3-6 months.
A fat transfer, on the other hand, is more long-lasting, even permanent. In autologous fat transfer, the fat is harvested from other areas like your abdomen or inner thighs. This procedure should be done by a surgeon in the operating room and may require anesthesia.
What is the downtime for the Labial Puff procedure?
After a Labial Puff procedure, you can expect some swelling and discomfort of the vulvar area, which can last for two weeks or more. You will be instructed to apply ice to the area a few times a day for the first week and keep the area clean with warm water washes. Most patients will find comfort in sitting on a soft pillow. You can usually return to work in less than one week and resume exercises 2-3 weeks. You will be asked to abstain from sexual activity for six weeks. Swelling and fat resorption can take up to 3 months to fully occur when you can see your final result!
