MONA LISA TOUCH | Chicago, IL
Relieve vaginal dryness, painful intercourse and urinary incontinence with MonaLisa Touch®
The MonaLisa Touch is an FDA-approved, non-surgical laser treatment designed to treat vaginal atrophy, incontinence and vaginal discomfort such as feminine dryness, painful sexual intercourse that may result from aging, menopause, childbirth or certain medical treatments such as chemotherapy.
What is MonaLisa Touch®?
As you age and as your estrogen levels go down after menopause, your vaginal tissue can atrophy. That means your vaginal tissue becomes drier and thinner than it was when you were younger. It may also become inflamed, causing burning, itching, discomfort, and even bleeding.
Because of vaginal atrophy, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
- Urinary incontinence such as leaking urine when you sneeze, laugh, or cough
- Lichen sclerosis (a common post menopausal skin condition)
- Frequent urinary tract infections
- Painful penetration and intercourse
- Chronic vaginal dryness, burning or discomfort
MonaLisa Touch vaginal laser treatments can help improve discomfort and even reverse conditions related to vaginal atrophy.
For younger women, it can help tighten up stretched vaginal tissue (also known as vaginal laxity) that can result after childbirth.
The negative effects of ageing on sexual health do not need to impact your life, if you think that the Mona Lisa Touch could be beneficial for you, please contact us and book a free consultation today!

MonaLisa Touch Frequently Asked Questions
How is MonaLisa Touch performed?
Your treatment with MonaLisa Touch occurs in our office and requires no anesthesia. During your treatment, your doctor will insert a small probe into your vagina. The probe delivers gentle laser energy to your vaginal tissues. Your treatment lasts only about five minutes.
The laser energy delivered by MonaLisa Touch stimulates your vagina to form new blood vessels and increase the production of collagen and elastin, two proteins that contribute strength and elasticity to your vaginal tissues.
Most women can return to their normal routine soon after having MonaLisa Touch treatment, although Dr. Kafali may recommend that you refrain from sexual intercourse for two or three days.
