Clitoral Hood Reduction
The clitoral hood is defined as the folds of skin surrounding and covering the glans clitoris. Because the clitoris’ sole function is to provide sexual stimulation, it is highly sensitive and contains thousands of nerve endings. The primary function of the clitoral hood is to protect the highly sensitive clitoral tissue and is the female version of the foreskin surrounding the glans penis in males. Among different women, the clitoral hood can vary greatly in appearance, ranging from thin and petite to large and redundant. There is no right or wrong appearance of the clitoral hood, but there are certainly aesthetic preferences in how it appears both by itself or in relation to the other vulvar or vaginal tissues.
