What Is Vaginal Rejuvenation?

Vaginal rejuvenation refers to a variety of different treatments aimed at restoring the female genitalia function, appearance and even confidence.

It is not one single procedure. It is a category of care that ranges from gentle, in-office treatments with no downtime to surgical procedures performed by Dr. Kafali. These treatments are designed to help improve vaginal laxity, increase sexual satisfaction, alleviate dryness and discomfort with intercourse, and in some cases address urinary incontinence.

The women who come to FemSculpt for vaginal rejuvenation are not one type of patient. Many are mothers noticing changes after pregnancy and childbirth. Others are in perimenopause or past menopause and dealing with dryness or thinning tissue. Some have seen changes after significant weight loss. Whatever brought you here, your concern is common, valid, and treatable.

Is This You?

Signs Vaginal Rejuvenation May Help

If any of these sound familiar, you are in the right place:

  • Dryness or thinning of the labial tissue that was not there before
  • A feeling of looseness or laxity, especially after vaginal delivery
  • Reduced sensation during intercourse
  • Pain or discomfort during intercourse
  • Leaking urine when you laugh, cough, sneeze, or exercise
  • Concerns about the size or appearance of your labia

These changes usually trace back to pregnancy, vaginal delivery, aging, and hormonal changes. None of them mean anything is wrong with you. They are physical changes to tissue, and tissue can be treated.

What makes them hard is how quietly they accumulate. Changes to your vaginal tissue may strain your intimate relationship, as well as your self-confidence. Many women adjust around the problem for years, avoiding certain activities, certain conversations, even certain moments with their partner, because no one ever told them these concerns are treatable. They are.

An honest starting point. A consultation with Dr. Kafali is a private conversation, not a sales pitch. She will listen to what is bothering you, examine your anatomy, and tell you plainly what will help and what will not. If a treatment is not right for you, she will say so.

Your Options

Vaginal Rejuvenation Treatments at FemSculpt

From no-downtime office visits to surgical procedures, and often a combination of both. Dr. Kafali matches the treatment to your anatomy and your goals, not the other way around.

Non-Surgical

Restore tone and elasticity without surgery: Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation

Laser vaginal rejuvenation is a non-surgical treatment that stimulates collagen production to help restore the tone and elasticity of the vaginal canal. Benefits may include improved tightness and sexual satisfaction, without the downtime that comes with surgery. The typical protocol is three treatments spaced at six-week intervals, with annual touch-up sessions to maintain results. It is a comfortable entry point if you are not ready for, or do not need, a surgical procedure.

Non-Surgical

Tighten and renew from within: Morpheus8V

Morpheus8V is radiofrequency microneedling designed specifically for vaginal rejuvenation. In clinical studies using pre and post treatment vaginal tissue biopsies, it has been shown to increase collagen and elastin in the vaginal canal, around the urethra, and around the clitoris. Most patients see improvement over a few sessions. Because it rebuilds the tissue itself, it addresses laxity, dryness, and sensation concerns at their structural source.

In-Office Injection

Reconnect with sensation: the Climax Shot™

The Climax Shot is a quick in-office treatment for women who cannot orgasm easily or whose vaginal dryness causes discomfort. It uses your own growth factors, so there is nothing synthetic involved, and it may increase sensitivity and the ability to orgasm more easily. There is no downtime, and you can resume sexual activity immediately. For many patients it pairs well with other rejuvenation treatments.

Surgical

When surgery is the right answer: Labiaplasty and surgical rejuvenation

For concerns that non-surgical treatments cannot sufficiently address, Dr. Kafali performs surgical vaginal rejuvenation: labia minora reduction, labia majora reduction, vaginoplasty to tighten the vaginal canal, clitoral hood reduction, mons pubis reduction, and perineoplasty. Procedures are often combined in a single session, which means one recovery instead of several. Surgery delivers the most significant and longest-lasting change for moderate to significant concerns.

Individual results may vary. Dr. Kafali will review what you can realistically expect during your consultation.

Questions, Answered

Vaginal Rejuvenation FAQs

What is vaginal rejuvenation?

Vaginal rejuvenation refers to a variety of different treatments aimed at restoring the female genitalia function, appearance and even confidence. It covers both non-surgical options, like laser treatments, Morpheus8V, and the Climax Shot, and surgical procedures such as labiaplasty, vaginoplasty, and perineoplasty. These treatments are designed to help improve vaginal laxity, increase sexual satisfaction, alleviate dryness and discomfort with intercourse, and in some cases address urinary incontinence.

What is the difference between surgical and non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation?

The short answer: surgical procedures deliver more dramatic, longer-lasting results for moderate to significant concerns. Non-surgical treatments like FormaV, Morpheus8V, and laser therapy involve minimal to no downtime and are best suited for mild to moderate laxity, dryness, or sensitivity changes. Some patients benefit from combining both approaches. Dr. Kafali will evaluate your anatomy and goals and tell you honestly which path makes the most sense.

What causes vaginal laxity?

Vaginal childbirth is the most common cause. Multiple deliveries, deliveries involving tearing, or the use of instrumentation increase the effect. But childbirth is not the only factor. Chronic cough or respiratory conditions like asthma, constipation, significant weight fluctuations, pelvic organ prolapse, trauma, natural aging, and genetics all play a role. The degree of laxity varies widely from person to person, even with similar histories.

Is it normal to want this kind of procedure?

Yes. So many women deal with these concerns and simply do not talk about them. One patient told us, “I’m reaching out from a vulnerable place and this is really difficult for me to do.” That feeling is more common than you think. Cosmetic gynecology is one of the fastest-growing areas of women’s health. The patients Dr. Kafali sees at FemSculpt come from all backgrounds and age groups. Some are postpartum. Some are post-menopausal. Some have never had children. Whatever brought you here, your concerns are valid, and seeking information is a healthy, empowered step.

Will I lose sensation after surgery?

Permanent nerve injury is rare, and sensation preservation is a clinical priority for every procedure Dr. Kafali performs. Her training as a board-certified OB/GYN means she has specialized knowledge of pelvic nerve pathways and female anatomy. With clitoral hood reduction, the goal is actually to improve sensation by removing tissue that blocks direct stimulation. With labiaplasty, her technique avoids the most nerve-dense areas of the labial edge. Dr. Kafali will walk you through the sensation risks specific to your procedure so you know exactly what to expect.

How do I know which procedure is right for me?

A consultation with Dr. Kafali is the clearest path. She will listen to your concerns, review your medical history, perform an examination, and recommend a specific treatment plan. Some patients benefit from a single procedure. Others get the best results from combining two or more treatments in one session. You will leave with a clear recommendation and a quote.

How much does vaginal rejuvenation cost?

Cost depends on which treatment you need. As reference points at FemSculpt: labiaplasty starts at $7,900 to $8,900 and up, and the Climax Shot starts at $1,750 per treatment. Surgical vaginal tightening is quoted individually based on the extent of the procedure, anesthesia, and whether it is combined with other procedures. You will receive a specific quote during your consultation, and your consultation fee ($150 virtual, $250 in-person) is applied toward the cost of your procedure. Financing options are available.

Can I travel to Chicago for my procedure?

Yes. FemSculpt regularly sees patients from New York, Tennessee, and across the country. Here is how it typically works: Dr. Kafali offers $150 virtual consultations so you can have your initial conversation and develop a treatment plan before traveling. Most procedures require only one to two in-person visits. The office is located at 310 W Superior St in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, with hotels and accommodations nearby.

Does insurance cover vaginal rejuvenation?

FemSculpt does not accept insurance directly for any procedure. You pay in full at the time of service. If your procedure has a medical indication, you may be able to submit a claim to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Dr. Kafali’s team can provide the necessary documentation.

How private is the process at FemSculpt?

Completely private. FemSculpt is a specialized practice, and the team understands the sensitive nature of these procedures. The office at 310 W Superior St in Chicago is a discreet environment. All medical records are confidential and protected under HIPAA. If you prefer to have your initial conversation from home, virtual consultations are available.
