WHAT IS A CLITORAL HOOD REDUCTION?

The clitoral hood the folds of skin surrounding and covering the clitoris. Because the clitoris’ sole function is to provide sexual stimulation, it is highly sensitive and contains thousands of nerve endings. The purpose of a clitoral hood reduction procedure may be to reduce the size of the clitoral hood to improve appearance, or to expose more of the clitoris to improve sexual stimulation.

WHAT IS CLEFT NARROWING?

The cleft narrowing is a procedure which is designed to narrow the pudendal cleft. This can be accomplished by reducing the amount of protruding tissue causing a widened cleft or making the labia majora themselves more plump. Cleft narrowing is usually done as a cosmetic procedure because some women prefer the neat and clean look of a thin slit between the labia majora while in standing position.

WHAT IS PERINEOPLASTY?

The perineum is a very important point of the pelvic floor muscles that lie between the vagina and rectum. During pregnancy and delivery, the perineal body can experience injury- tearing and scarring, causing laxity and loss of sensation.

Perineoplasty is a procedure in which the area near the opening of the vagina is surgically repaired and tightened to restore the perineum and normalize vaginal support. The entrance of the vagina will be narrowed and strengthened resulting in improvement of vaginal tightness and tone for intercourse. Perineal repair is often performed in conjunction with vaginoplasty or labiaplasty, but it may also be performed as a simple single outpatient procedure.
