The width of this cleft can vary.  In some women, the pudendal cleft is a narrow slit, with no tissue protruding.  In other women, the tissue of the clitoral hood or the labia minora can protrude between the cleft causing it to appear wide.  The protrusion and widening can be caused by excess clitoral hood or labia minora tissue, deflated or thin labia majora, or a combination of those factors.
