Labiaplasty: Plan to stay in town for 48 to 72 hours after surgery

Vaginoplasty or Vaginal Rejuvenation: These procedures typically require a longer stay of 3 to 5 days

Multiple Procedures: If you are having more than one procedure, plan to stay 3 to 5 days
Your nurse will schedule a follow-up appointment will be scheduled prior to your travel home to ensure you are medically cleared.

In general, most out-of-state and international patients can leave Chicago within 24 to 72 hours after surgery, often within 48 to 72 hours, as long as you are medically stable.
Your postoperative care is customized to your surgery and your needs, and we arrange the right follow-up accordingly.
If your recovery is uncomplicated and an in-person visit is not required, the first postoperative follow-up is typically a virtual visit about two weeks after surgery.
Tips for Traveling Patients

A wheelchair must be requested for travel throughout the airport

You must have a responsible adult travel with you to help with mobility and luggage

Mobility is essential to prevent blood clots. When flying, stand up and walk at least once per hour

Stay well hydrated. This helps flush anesthesia from your body and supports healing

Wear loose, comfortable clothing to avoid pressure on the surgical area

Prepare a small travel bag with ice packs, a peri bottle, and prescribed medications

Use a small pillow or cushion for comfort while sitting

Keep the surgical area clean and dry during travel
