What is the pudendal cleft?
The pudendal cleft, also known as the cleft of Venus, the urogenital cleft, or the vulvar cleft, is the slit between the labia majora or outer vaginal lips, usually viewed in a standing position. Understanding the pudendal cleft anatomy is crucial in performing the Cleft of Venus narrowing procedure.
What causes a wide pudendal cleft?
The width of the cleft of Venus can vary. In some women, it is a narrow slit with no tissue protruding. In others, the clitoral hood tissue or the labia minora can protrude, causing it to appear wide. This protrusion and widening can be due to excess clitoral hood or labia minora tissue, deflated or thin labia majora, or a combination of these factors.
